Oscar Wilde Memorial Bookshop

1988-oscar-wilde-receipt-for-in-the-life-1

Soon after B.Michael learned of Joseph Beam’s seminal anthology, In the Life, from his cousin Sheilah in Boston, he would later buy a gaggle of them to share with folks as gifts. This is a receipt from Oscar Wilde, the beloved Greenwich Village bookseller where B.Michael bought nine copies, we believe, circa 1987-88.

Curious if you, dear reader, are one of the folks who received your copy from B.Michael?

What’s the last book YOU bought multiple copies of to share? For this curator, it was Resmaa Menakem’s My Grandmother’s Hands.
